One year - 114 posts

Today marks one year that I've been writing this blog, and as the title says this will be the 114th post to my blog.

I decided to look into some of the statistics for my blog.

Only two posts have drawn over 100 page views, and a third is sitting at 99. The top two had one thing in common, they were single card posts.

The first was when I posted the Jim Brown rookie card that I bought. At this moment it shows 459 views which is heads and tails above the second post with 110 views.

The second was the 1991 Action Packed All-Madden Team 24K card of Clay Matthews that I bought.

Third, at 99 views is the first post of my neglected Browns By The Numbers series where I looked at numbers 1, 2 and 3. The series has been delayed since number 9, but I'll have to do number 10 sometime next week after RGIII plays wearing that number.

Looking at traffic sources to this blog, by far the most views come from the link on The Trading Card Database, followed almost neck-in-neck by links from Google, and Night Owl Cards.

I haven't tracked my collection over the last year, and I probably don't want to know how much money I've spent, but I'm still enjoying tracking down Browns cards. I've appreciated trading with many different people, especially receiving blind trades to enjoy seeing what other people have found to send me.

I advertised a bit of a stealth anniversary contest in my posts over the last few days, at the bottom of the posts to see who might still be reading. Nine people left comments after those posts, and I'm going to randomize their names three times to find a winner. I'm heading to a card show in Syracuse tomorrow, and a local card show in Ottawa on Sunday, and will hopefully be able to find something nice for the winner at one of the shows.

The nine entrants are:

Adam Sanders
John Hazen
Billy Kingsley
Twitch
Tony Burbs
Mike Matson
RoundtheDiamond87
Michael Ott

Entering the names in the list organizer at random.org, and hitting randomize three times, here is the final result:

Congratulations, Billy!

I already have your address, so I know where to send the prize. In your comments you didn't leave any information to narrow down what to look for but I know that you collect everything so I'm sure that I won't have a problem finding something cool for you.

Since I should probably have at least one card pictured in this first anniversary post, I'll finish this post with one from my collection of the only player to wear #1 for the Cleveland Browns, Michael Jackson.

  4. Wow, thank you so much! This is the first blog contest I've won, I think. I always enjoy your posts and I'm glad to see you keeping on with blogging. I am a little jealous that you get to go to a card show, but being at my favorite car show for the first time in four years takes that away a bit, lol. (Post about it coming Tuesday)
